It’s like they’re trying to make us fit, like a puzzle, into this society. We’re all supposed to go along with it like every piece means everything to the big picture. No stray thoughts are allowed. It’s not possible when there’s so much here we have to focus on. Like what we learn in our classes will enlighten us and truly teach us life. Sometimes I feel like I’m only allowed to think within a certain box. If I think outside of it, then I’m doomed to be lost. I’ll lose my way. I won’t survive. Could we somehow end up on top by thinking beyond where we are supposed to? In this society the answer is no. We will not survive because they will not let us. This is what they’re trying to do! They’re doing it on purpose. They make us too fatigued and busy to question what is going on. They do our thinking for us because it’s easier for us. Like in the book One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn...like in that prison camp. Have you noticed it? There’s so much we’re not doing, that we think we can’t do. We can, but instead, everything must be so superficial...so HERE. There’s more than that. I can’t be the only one who sees it...
Have you ever wondered whose standards we live up to? We constantly worry about things that are not important. Last night, I was stressed out because I couldn't find my outfit for a performance. Is it really important? I've always thought that I would die young, which is why I rarely plan ahead. I don't want to be disappointed with my life. Is there anyone else who feels the same way? And, what should we do about it? All we spend our lives doing is living up to other people's standards. We should not be deaf-mutes to this. What is the point of our lives when we are not able to truly learn what is important? Of course, there are always people who will disagree with me. Obviously, they do not think this way, but I would never leave them out even though I have been left out many times. Those people are quite happy living in a bubble, and that is where they would like to stay, am I right? People like that are significant because they define what is important in life. They give a meaning to something that really has no meaning at all. Most people like that have found each other, though, while people like me continue to walk alone. We should live in a society where we worry about things that truly matter. Why stay up all night writing a paper when in the end, it will be forgotten? Instead, I believe that we should seek knowledge though living and learning. Of course, an education like we receive at school is important, but I do not see why school and written tests must define our lives. It blinds us from what is really important. I want to build a community for all of us where people who think like this can live freely.
I just think I look at the world differently than most people. If there is anyone else like me, please reply to this...I want to create a place where we can belong and be happy as long as we are here. But first, I must find others who will help. |
